An Introduction to good practice in the sustainable management of wastes, Price: £60

Subject: Waste Management

Price: £60

This course provides an overview of options under the waste management hierarchy that can contribute to the cost- and resource-efficient management of wastes. It is applicable globally, and supports an understanding of the benefits of the different waste management techniques that can be utilised to different degrees, according to local circumstances (from country to country). It has been accredited by WAMITAB, the UK Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board.

It comprises two modules in which the first introduces the concept of sustainable wastes management and then looks in more detail at wastes prevention, re-use and recycling. Module 2 summarises sustainability considerations for energy from waste incineration, anaerobic digestion and landfill. The total running time for this course is approximately 38 minutes.

An advanced programme will be developed that will provide further detail on each of the five options that are introduced within this course.

The course is available through all commonly-used web browsers while users may derive benefit from the use of headphones, though this is not essential.

An end of module test must be passed before progressing to the next module and for each module the pass mark has been set at 65% and upon successful completion of the course, a certificate will be available to download and to keep for record purposes.

A single FactSheet is available with Module 1 and can be downloaded to support the learning process.

We hope that you enjoy the e-learning experience!
